Mainely Summer Adventures 2026, a 9 week adventure (7:30a - 5:30p) for children entering Pre-K through grade 6. This program will start on Wednesday June 24th and continue through August 21st. ASA / Summer Adventures Director Kristy Lincoln and Staff, some new and some returning, will provide a great summer experience for your child. Summer Adventures is not limited in registration, however we will be separating the children into smaller age appropriate groups, for example groups with Grades PreK - 1, 2 - 3 & 4 - 6. This program is based at the Wiscasset Elementary School the first 6 weeks and at the Wiscasset Community Center the last 3 weeks with access to all of the Wiscasset Community Center Facilities such as the Pool, Playground and fields.  Weekly schedules will be subject to change as we continue to work on and update our schedule. **Not all adventurers will always go on every trip.  This is based on age, behavior, and specific guidelines of certain trips.  These adventurers will have alternative activities/trips, as needed based on the trip guidelines. Please find Summer Adventure documents linked below. Maguire's Midcoast Community ChallengeOctober 10th, 2026 8:00a - 2:00p (approx)1 - 3 Mile obstacle and fitness course, containing at least 10 obstacles of moderate difficulty, based around the Wiscasset Community Center and the West Wood Trails. This is not a 5K run, this is a challenge that will include uneven terrain, water, mud, upper body strength and general "FUN" as Cedric says!This is a rain or shine event.Keep moving and finish strong!Try and continue to try!The goal for everyone involved is to make it to the end of the day!Register at www.running4free.com, www.wiscassetrec.com or at the WCC Front DeskRace Cost:Pre-registration is $45.00Day of registration is $60.00, opens at 7:00amThis will be a short obstacle course race with an estimated walking time of an hour and a half to complete. Mud, water, rocks and forest shall accompany you towards an afternoon of contemplating your life choices and post exercise relaxation.Pre-registration is highly recommended and cheaper too!Never done an obstacle course race before? NO PROBLEM!The Wiscasset Community Center is offering a 10 week outdoor exercise class that will serve as a primer for the race. This class will predominantly feature body weight exercise with a focus on cardio and getting acquainted with "obstacles"; i.e. non-standard movement over non-standard things!Course will be held at WCC, starting Thursday, August 6th (6:00p)10 Week Course Cost: $50.00 for Members$75.00 for Non-membersWhat to bring:Photo ID (Pre-registered or not), Shoes you don't mind getting ruinedClothes that you can freely move in and also don't mind getting dirty and A GOOD ATTITUDE!Avoid cotton clothes when possible, as there will be water, it might be raining and you don't want the graphics on your favorite shirt to rub off!Volunteers are needed for course work, obstacle construction and RACE DAY! Fall Running Clubfor 1st - 6th GradersSTART DATE - MONDAY, August 24th @ 5:00pJoin Coach and assistants for the upcoming Fall Running Club season.This program is designed to promote running as a fun and healthy way to enjoy a team atmosphere while developing a lifelong passion for running. Practices will be created to train and teach our young runners to enjoy the sport of running while growing into athletes. Practices will be held 2 days a week, starting Monday, August 24th and will be held at the Wiscasset Community Center & WMHS Fields.  Runners will compete in "Fun Run Meets" held in area communities throughout the months of September and October. Practices:                  All divisions                          Mondays & Wednesdays: 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm                         **Coaches / WPRD will notify participants of any cancellations or changes in schedule**There could also be optional practices held by the coach for all divisions, coach will notify all participants of time and place.Meets:                 Wednesdays,(TBD)and a Championship on Saturday, (TBD, Mid October)Cost:                 $40/WCC Members                 $45/Community Partners (Wiscasset, Alna, Westport, Dresden)                 $50/Standard

Maguire's Midcoast Community ChallengeOctober 10th, 2026 8:00a - 2:00p (approx)1 - 3 Mile obstacle and fitness course, containing at least 10 obstacles of moderate difficulty, based around the Wiscasset Community Center and the West Wood Trails. This is not a 5K run, this is a challenge that will include uneven terrain, water, mud, upper body strength and general "FUN" as Cedric says!This is a rain or shine event.Keep moving and finish strong!Try and continue to try!The goal for everyone involved is to make it to the end of the day!Register at www.running4free.com, www.wiscassetrec.com or at the WCC Front DeskRace Cost:Pre-registration is $45.00Day of registration is $60.00, opens at 7:00amThis will be a short obstacle course race with an estimated walking time of an hour and a half to complete.
